Have posted on here before and got a good response. I am looking for a vocal coach/voice tutor to come in and work with a group of year 12 students. This will be a paid position and I can offer £25 per hour for x 10 sessions. The sessions should look at vocal technique and ideally you will have a voice/vocal background.

I am trying to trace an artist (called d'Arcy?) who designs windchimes in collaboration with primary school children. There is one at Malories Primary School Christchurch Avenue NW6. No-one at the school seems to have a contact number for them. Would be very grateful for any help or suggestions of other artists who do wind based projects with children. Thanks

The Hilton in the Community Foundation makes grants to a wide range of charities and organisations that meet one of their chosen areas of focus:

Young People – Education
Young People – Health

Applications are rigorously assessed to ensure that the best projects reaching the most disadvantaged young people are prioritised. The Foundation aims to support a range of causes helping young people, across the UK and Ireland, with a particular focus on these areas:

Disabled children
Children in hospital
Homelessness
Life-limited children in hospices

Completed applications are first assessed by the Foundation office, with a shortlist of approximately 20 of the strongest and regionally representative applications put forward for consideration by the Grants Committee. The Grants Committee comprises independent and Hilton nominated members, and meets quarterly to discuss the applications. There is approximately £100,000 available to distribute each quarter.

The next deadline is 2 August 2011 so you still have some time to get your application in. Click here for more information.

Good morning all,

Please may I take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Lynsey Anderton and I work as Community Co-ordinator at The Ravensbourne School, a vibrant mixed Academy within the borough of Bromley.

On Tuesday 12th July 2011 we are holding a work related learning event for our Year 12 students (aged 16-17) called ‘Get Inspired’. During the day we are inviting practitioners from the Creative and Media industry to come into school and to deliver a workshop, presentation or talk to our students, to inspire and give them a taste of a range of creative and media jobs. The workshop could be anything from following a design brief through to concept ideas, planning a creative project for the community or anything that fulfils your normal day to day activities.

By posting this message I am hoping to make new contacts who would be available to talk at our ‘Get Inspired’ event and would also be interested in working with our students on future projects.

Although funding is limited we deliver a wide range of community and curriculum based projects throughout the year using a number of external parties and we are always interested in meeting new contacts with fresh ideas.

My name is Jax Lovelock, Creative Arts Teacher at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury Technology College. Our newly formed Creative Arts Faculty commences its new curriculum on 13 June 2011 and we are keen to proactively promote pupil involvement in any and all local arts organisations, including yours. The British Council Connecting Classrooms Programme is open for applications, with the next deadline for schools to apply being 21 October 2011. Under Connecting Classrooms, grants are available to schools and local authorities/federations of schools (or affiliated bodies) from the UK to set up partnerships with schools usually from two different countries within one continent.

The aim of these partnerships is to bring an international dimension to young people’s learning, to improve their knowledge and understanding of other cultures and prepare them for life and work as global citizens. Partnerships last for three years, initially, and participating schools are eligible for funding to support activities and projects that sustain the link during this period. The level of funding available depends upon the countries involved in the partnership. The British Council will provide further information in the summer term about the partner countries available and the application process.

Last year the participating regions included sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Central and South Asia, East Asia, Middle East, China and Latin America.
